Tom works with Massachusetts individuals, families, and business owners to create and implement personalized estate planning, tax planning, and business succession planning strategies. The process often includes planning to minimize transfer taxes by establishing trusts, LLCs, family limited partnerships, or charitable foundations. A key part of the process also involves establishing documents for emergency situations such as health care proxies and durable powers of attorney.

Probate & Trust Administration

Tom also represents clients in all aspects of probate and estate settlement, which is the legal process of administering a deceased person's estate by itemizing their assets, paying debts and taxes, and making distributions to lawful beneficiaries. Tom has extensive experience settling both contested and uncontested estates, as well as extensive experience with fiduciary litigation.

Medicaid & Special Needs Planning

Tom assists families with special planning needs, including those with children and family members who may be unable to manage money, or who need to remain eligible for certain public benefits.
